What a waste of money! I went this weekend to fright fest and wished I'd saved myself a trip. It was overcrowded and everything from the food stalls to the attractions had a ridiculous line backing up into the general walkways of the park. Paying extra for the haunted houses after already paying so much just to park and enter felt like a slap in the face. Worlds of Fun in Kansas City doesn't do that. It also doesn't charge money for lockers just so you can ride their rides. Also, if you ask for a cup of water here, be prepared to laugh in disbelief at how tiny the cups they give you are. It holds maybe 4 oz at best. They really want you to pay $5 for that bottle of water.
Definitely showing its age. But, there are some classic rides here that you remember and they have not torn down. I understand that during the summertime this park is run and mostly populated by teenagers. I just wish management was a little harder on the employees to take care of the park. Winter lights is a great time if it's not too cold to ride the few rides open.
Six Flags in Eureka, MO is okay, but it's not the best place. It's very fun and the rides are enjoyable, but you can see that the workers will sometimes slack off and be in their phones, the lines for restaurants are VERY long (I had to wait over an hour) and there is trash around the floor of the park. But their Ice Cream is amazing and has a variety of original flavors. I'd give it a B-.
Great experience. It's best when you catch a light day when the lines aren't too long. Attractions are worth the wait. The bathrooms at the entrance have been the cleanest in my experience. Avoid bathrooms in bugs bunny national park, they are always hot and dirty. Be prepared for frustration at the food stands. I've been going for years, service at most food stands is pathetic at best. Most stand workers do not seem to care and do not get in any hurry. Visiting in October is kind of neat since the decorate for Halloween. Buy the day cup, after three refills it more than pays for itself and it is much easier to tote aground the park. We usually take lunch and eat in the parking lot since you are allowed to leave the park once per visit... Cuts down on the cost.
Outstanding. This is their second year of Christmas in the park and they did a bang up job. One of the best Christmas displays I have seen in the area. Their Christmas play was wonderful. It is good to see a place that tells you the Real reason for the Christmas season.
Everything about this park was a disappointment. It was dirty, and all the garbage cans were overflowing. The older rides look like they haven't been painted since they opened years ago. The pavement is cracked and dangerous to walk on in the dark and all the shows are sub-par. You can tell the workers don't really want to be there. Can't say I blame them, they are probably 90% high school kids working long hours for minimum wage and no benefits. The whole park feels like a big scam to take your money. Nothing amusing about it.
My recommendation? If you want to go somewhere actually fun for Halloween, make the trip up to Kansas City. You will get more for your money and you won't feel like you need a tetanus shot after.
